Website Expands to Include International Law

Website Expands to Include International Law Posted on February 10, 2020

I would like to update you regarding an interesting new topic that I will be adding to this website.

I am now a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Law at Leiden University in the Netherlands, a university well known for its work in International Law and International Criminal Law, and an excellent match for the research that I am doing.  The topic of my PhD is The Visualization of Digital Evidence in International Criminal Prosecutions.  This is a subject with broad application.  Though I will be focusing my research and writing on the use of digital evidence primarily in the context of international war crime prosecutions (genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and crimes of aggression), much of what I will be writing about has application to the investigation and prosecution of crime at the domestic level as well.

As a result, in addition to the existing topics of forensic video analysis issues, expert witnesses and expert witness testimony, I will also be adding content on an international scale, primarily as it relates to war crime investigations and prosecutions.  I hope that you will find this extension of my research to be of interest and assistance.

While working on my PhD, I will continue to teach for the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association International Inc. (LEVA) in the Level 1, 2, and 4 courses.  I will also teach my courses on Courtroom Testimony for Expert Witnesses and Courtroom Testimony for Investigators.  Agencies interested in hosting these courses can contact me as usual at jonathan@jonathanhak.com.
